Within the scope of multiplier events of Shared (Hi)stories, Makbule Orman Ortaokulu organized these activities.
1- Meeting with parents at school
During this meeting, the parents were informed about;
-the partners
-the initial objectives
-the activities
-the products
The headmaster and project managers gave detailed information about those topics above. The parents were quite happy to see the videos, lesson packs and all the other products of the project. When asked, they agreed that those materials created within the project would be attractive and beneficial for their children. They also indicated that using common stories would motivate their children to learn new pharases and grammatical structures and it might make students remember easier.
2- Presenting the activities to the students
Grade 5, 6, 7 and 8 students were invited to the conference hall and they were given a detailed presentation about all the phases of the project.
They were familiar to the project’s main idea. Because they had done activities including shared histories such as reading text, watching videoes, drawing posters and doing vocabulary exercises. During the multiplier event, they asked what further they wanted to know. Students looked interested and attracted by the presentation done by the teachers.
3- Visiting Local Authorities
We visited education director the mayor and the governor to give a detailed information about all the activities and phases of the project.
During these visits, the authorities were informed about;
-the partners
-the initial objectives
-the activities
-the products
They were quite happy to be informed about the project and they asked further questions about the project such as;
If the project had been beneficial for the students,
If the project had been attractive to the students,
How eager the teachers were to implement the project,
If we had encountered any difiiculties during the project and
How we planed to share the results with other schools.
Our team answered those questions and those visits were shared on official web pages.
